FOUNDER & CREATIVE DIRECTOR OF GUMMY GEM STUDIOS

Before she ever created colorful jewelry, April was the little girl who believed life was simply better in color.

Growing up in a small rural town in Mississippi, she filled her notebooks with hearts and stars, collected every gel pen she could find, and never met a shade of pink she didn’t love. Her bedroom was painted purple with pink accents, and every birthday or back-to-school season was another excuse to surround herself with bright colors, sparkles, and all things cute.

She didn’t realize it then, but those little moments were shaping the creative spirit that would one day become Gummy Gem.

After graduating from the University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health, April’s journey took her places she never imagined. She had the opportunity to help create magical memories at Disney, where she learned that joy isn’t just something you feel—it’s something you can create for others. Later, she built a career leading teams at Amazon before taking to the skies as a flight attendant, traveling the world and discovering new cultures, architecture, fashion, and color palettes that would continue to inspire her creativity.

Along the way, April also founded Glaze-ish, a skincare brand that grew into a successful business and was carried by national retailers. Building Glaze-ish taught her how to transform a creative idea into a brand that people genuinely connected with.

But through every chapter of her life, one thing remained constant.

She was always drawn to color.

Whether it was the bright storefronts of a city she’d never visited, the pastel buildings tucked away on a quiet street, or the sparkle of crystals catching the sunlight, April found herself inspired by the little details that made the world feel happier.

That lifelong love eventually became Gummy Gem.

Every necklace, bracelet, ring, and pair of earrings begins with the belief that jewelry should do more than complete an outfit—it should brighten your mood, celebrate your personality, and remind you that confidence can be colorful.

Gummy Gem was created for women who never outgrew their love of color. For women who still smile when they see something playful. For women who believe getting older never means becoming less creative, less expressive, or less joyful.

Because every color tells another story.
